Let's just write today off as a complete pain-in-the-arse-waste-of-time-filled-with-cockwombles, shall we?  Great.  Roll on tomorrow and a day at the job that doesn't drive me insane.

* Because some days, there's just nothing worth saying

Saturday, 28 September 2013

Last time this happened, I was in a pub in London at 6am (local time) watching it with a bunch of other expats.

This time, I was home in Melbourne.  Sadly, not at the MCG, but at least I was in the right city.

Go Hawks!!  2013 Premiers!  Wooohoooo!

Friday, 27 September 2013

I've been bouncing around in excitement all day anticipating tonight's return of my favourite show. LITERALLY.

So many choices... I can't decide!

Sometimes, the universe really does know what you need... #FindingWater

Tuesday, 24 September 2013

Walked home from newer job (which took an hour) and STILL made it home before I would've if I'd PT'd from my other job.  Just sayin'...

Monday, 23 September 2013

Fourth round of laser for my rosacea and I have perfected my Allison Reynolds impersonation for the tram journey home...

Sunday, 22 September 2013

Oh Sydney, you minx. Turning on the blue skies and sunshine for a lunchtime catch up at the Opera Bar with the original Sydney gang, then giving me the journey home from hell... complete with airport train-bus replacements and kicking, screaming toddlers on all sides for the hour-long flight.

Saturday, 21 September 2013

Hello Sydney. Nice day for a catch-up lunch with some old mates and an evening wedding of another.

Friday, 20 September 2013

Working a full day on 2 hours sleep is never fun... an early night methinks.

Thursday, 19 September 2013

Today's Artist Date consisted of a trip to the paint store (Milk Paint. It's a thing. Really.) where I ran into a Prue & Trude (my suburb is full of them!); followed by a trip to the library to browse through books written to tell me how refinish furniture using said milk paint. Sounds weird, I know, but it was a FUN two hours.

Oh and the two and a half hour Skype with the British-Belgian Bestie was fun too.

Bastard workmen destroyed my jasmine. DESTROYED.  Bastards.

Tuesday, 17 September 2013

InDesign, you are my bitch.  Never used it before today, yet I've managed to produce two 10+ page theatre programs and a poster.

WINNING.

PS - I love this job. Paid to create. What more could you ask?

Monday, 16 September 2013

Haters gonna hate, but I stand by my call that The Newsroom finale was awesome. Sloan Sabbith and Leona Lansing are my heroes.

Sunday, 15 September 2013

A lovely lunch, an excellent piece of theatre and a Skype with my creative cluster. Plus, some more work on the book.  Sunday, you get a big ol' tick and a smiley face.

Saturday, 14 September 2013

Love my Saturday morning brunches with Lady B, followed by a big shop at the Queen Vic Market.

Friday, 13 September 2013

Finding out your MD is an active supporter of the new PM... yet another reason to get the hell out of dodge.*

*Dodge being my current workplace

Thursday, 12 September 2013

Granted, Salinger isn't the greatest documentary ever produced, but there was enough in it to: (a) hold my attention for 2 hours; and (b) get me digging out For Esmé—with Love and Squalor from the bookshelf when I arrived home.

Wednesday, 11 September 2013

Cushions are done! Now for some furniture re-painting...

Tuesday, 10 September 2013

No guesses as to how I'm spending this evening...

#SewingNerd

Monday, 9 September 2013

Monday nights just won't be the same when The Newsroom finishes next week.

Sigh.

Sunday, 8 September 2013

Nothing like notifications that: (a) window repainting commences tomorrow; and (b) hard rubbish collection is on Friday, to motivate me to spend the day cleaning and moving my bike, clearing the balcony of plants and ditching the broken BBQ (not to mention weeding and clearing the entire garden patch under my balcony).  Throw in a few long-overdue sewing tasks and I'm feeling quite satisfied with my domestic prowess today.

Saturday, 7 September 2013

The depression caused by seeing so many wealthy, designer-pram-pushing, Gucci-clad, Mercedes-driving thirty-somethings in my electorate shunning every How To Vote card bar the Liberal Party's was tempered somewhat by the number of baby boomers and elderly accepting my Greens HTV card to the exclusion of all others.

Oh and by my upstairs neighbour (he of the loud, weird music) ripping both the ALP and LNP a new one over their treatment of asylum seekers and slashing of foreign aid. THAT was a joyous thing to witness.

Friday, 6 September 2013

Slightly stressed about what tomorrow will bring... and the consequences of a public who choose poorly.

Thursday, 5 September 2013

I'm so disillusioned with Australian politics that I'm contemplating moving to Sweden.

What say you, Lotta?  May I come hang out in your wonderful country for a few years while mine goes to hell in a handbasket?

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

It's official. I've turned into a sewing nerd.  I popped into Lincraft on my lunch break, bought more material, came home after work and continued sewing until nearly midnight.

Now if I could just learn to sew something a little more advanced than cushion covers...

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

The thrill I get from leaving work at 5pm, jumping on a tram, watching the sun begin to set on the journey home and walking in the front door by 5.30pm is something I could get used to.  Easily.

Monday, 2 September 2013

NO NEWSROOM? THERE'S NO NEWSROOM FOR ME TO WATCH TONIGHT?  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!*

*Apologies for shouting. I've been blindsided on this one. It's rattled me.  I came home expecting to get my weekly Sorkin fix.

Sunday, 1 September 2013

A catch up with three wonderful friends (in person and via Skype), plus the satisfaction of finally embarking on my living-room-renovation project, leads me to declare this a VERY good weekend.
